Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to work together with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. Then on the 9th November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then released the song as a single by herself for her debut album. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first week, it had over 3 million views. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
